Thursday
I'm typing this on a Thursday, and coincidentally The Weeknd's "The Bird's Part 2" is playing. I just wanted to get a few things off my chest. I may come off as one who doesn't care much about what people think of me, which is entirely false. I care a lot but I'm aware of, and have been for the most part of my life about what matters. Recently the nominations at my school for homecoming court were announced. I did not campaign or ask for anyone to vote for me, but a good number of my peers did. That? I care about. That people genuinely feel that I deserve to be held to any acclaim. I pray for others before I pray for myself. I love a lot of people, I have a big heart, and I'm a very passionate being, and to know that the feelings that I feel for others are returned in any form every now and again makes my heart smile.

The Real
First things first...I love British rappers. The most vulgar bars sound sophisticated when said in a British accent. My friend Joacquim put me onto song while we were chatting. The reason I'm posting this isn't because the song is amazing or because I love Chipmunk's British flow but because of Chris Brown's verse/rap. But before I go into detail, let me just say...I do not in any way shape or form approve of Chris Brown rapping.
Celebrities are constantly in the public eye and scrutinized for any wrong doing they've done almost everyday of their lives. Imagine being reminding of something you did over a year ago EVERY. DAY. OF. YOUR. LIFE. I'm not saying what Chris Brown has done or any celebrity for that matter is dismissable or acceptable because of fame but I encourage everyone to not bring it up everytime their name is mentioned. I applaud Chris Brown for directly speaking on his situation on this song and encourage more artists/celebrities to do the same. No more press releases. No more premedidated apologies, no more completey ignoring what we JUST saw/read/heard. I'd like to encourage the real.

Natural State

I was originally gonna do an entire post, with tons of pictures, paying homage to my favorite Kardashian, Kourtney, but this picture is enough. I love her so.

Attitude
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.

Tattoos
I don't have any. I want a triangle on my back. Not any relation to Illuminati, Roc Nation or any hipster-esque things, I've just always loved Triangles, since elementary and playing with blocks. I also want a very detailed elephant on my wrist or ribcage. I'd also like to have 1st John 4:12 somewhere but I don't know yet, and I want the actual scripture that says "No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us and his love is brought to full expression in us." It's my favorite verse. I don't want any of them to be visible however if I get one on my wrist there's no hiding that. I want to be established and be making at least six figures before I get a visible one. Hopefully this summer I can get my triangle done. There's more to the explanations but I don't feel like going into too much detail because it's personal.
P.S: All my tattoos will have some significance to me and my life, not condemning anyone who gets a meaningless/spontaneous one, because it's your body and it doesn't say anywhere that your tattoos have to have a meaning. However, I'm a Christian and I'm aware that tattoos are a sin so when I go up to the pearly gates I'd like to have a solid argument for St.Peter.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Muddy Swim Trunks - Asher Roth
It rained today so thank God I took these in these in the morning. I usually take my pictures when I get home from school/work. We had a thunderstorm and there's been tornado warnings going around, but nothing ever happens where I live so I'm chillin'. However, when I came home the power was out! At first it was okay, 'cause I had my phone & was still connected with the outside world but then I realized It was dying and I wouldn't be able to charge it. Before it died completely I asked my friend Valeria to order me some food from Dominos so I could conserve my battery, she obliged. I have great friends.
While I was at school and the rain began the majority of black girls were upset. I'd like to clear the air on this subject as to why black girls don't like the rain.
1) It messes up our hair natural or not. Some black girls with natural hair don't mind it, 'cause their hair will just curl up. Others mind it 'cause they probably spent a good amount of time styling it and the rain will ruin it. ALSO, our weaves CAN get wet, we would just rather them not get wet, OKAY?
2) It causes your lotion to run.

"And when I open my eyes I found myself standing before a mirror
Staring into the eyes of an invisible man until my pupils became pupils
And I could teach myself to live a better life."

New Year Resolution
Eh, they're pretty Cliché, don't you think? Every resolution I've ever made has been broken within the first month. This year I'm just gonna try to drink more water, save more money, and be triller than I already am.

Ayo, Quick Life Lesson
Prior to it actually taking place you form opinions on situations saying "I'd never let that happen" or "I wouldn't even care" but when it actually happens to you, you DO let it happen and you DO care. Time, maturity and relationships really tend to alter your better judgment, I've come to find out. But is it for the best? That's the hard part but with life comes lessons and unless your way is ridiculously and obviously wrong, however you choose to take the lesson is your choice and you should never beat yourself up about it.
